great location for:

For the more active and adventurous, this is an undoubted highlight of a visit to Peru. This thrilling 4-day hike starts at km82 along the Cusco to Aguas Calientes railroad in Sacred Valley and finishes at the world-famous Inca citadel of Machu Picchu past over 30 smaller Inca sites such as the impressive archaeological site of Winaywayna. While trekking you will have three nights at campsites along the route in comfortable personal tents based on two people in each 4-person-capacity tent to allow for a higher level of comfort. Places on the trail are strictly limited to 500 people a day so it is important to pre-book the trek to ensure availability of Inca Trail permits.
