Cara Lodge was built in the 1840s and over the years has hosted many dignitaries including Edward VII. In recent years the home has become a unique hotel with the comfort and services of a modern hotel. All rooms reflect the traditional building style of Guyana with traditional Demerara Shutters and polished wooden floors.
A great base to explore the idyllic Pakaraima Mountains and Burro Burro River and bordering the Amerindian village of Surama, this lodge directly benefits the local community and offers tours in this area of abundant flora and fauna.
