Colourful traditional villages, palm fringed tropical beaches and bird rich secondary rainforest can all be found around Venezuela’s oldest national park. Located three hours to the west of Caracas, the park is home to over 550 different bird species, many mammals and has a mixture of low and high level forest. The Caribbean coastline near to the quaint fishing village of Choroní is the place to head for if you fancy a few days lazing in the sun.
