great location for:

A mix of historic and modern, Panama City is a place where you will find both shining skyscrapers and great old buildings. To the east, Panama Viejo, the original capital founded in 1517, is a place of pirate legend and has been left in ruins since its sacking by Welsh pirate Henry Morgan in 1671. The capital then moved to the now Casco Viejo (Casco Antiguo) district which is today an attractive area of beautiful 17th and 18th Century churches, convents, museums and colonial mansions built by the Spanish and French.
