great location for:

Sucre, the constitutional capital of Bolivia, is a fine colonial city. Relatively small, it has a wealth of historical architecture and is a delight to discover on foot.

Further south is the city of Potosí. The highest city in the world grew rapidly during the 16th Century following the discovery of silver in the nearby Cerro Rico Mountain. Opulent churches and grand mansions were all built on the back of the lucrative silver trade. Despite the difficult conditions local people still work at the mine to this day.
