Lake Atitlán rightly deserves its reputation as being the world’s most beautiful lake. A two hour drive from Antigua takes you up through the highlands and then down to the lakeshore. Three volcanoes rise between 1500 and 3100 metres on the southern shore and looking at these across a calm, tranquil, shimmering lake is an amazing experience.
