Information

great location for:

The Yucatán seemingly has everything; mile after mile of tropical coastline, large tracts of rainforest, delightful colonial cities and a number of truly outstanding Mayan sites. Of major importance since Mayan times, Mérida the ‘White City’ and state capital is a modern city that retains an old colonial feel. Explore the narrow streets or marvel at the many churches and cathedrals.

The nearby ruins at Chichén Itzá and Uxmal are both outstanding examples of Mayan architecture. Covering an area of over four square miles, Chichén Itzá retains many of the original Mayan palaces and temples. Nearby, rising up from the encroaching jungle, the Pyramid of the Magician is the centrepiece of the ruins at Uxmal, its presence dominating the whole site.
