Information
Like a fun sized Grand Canyon, Isalo National Park is a stunning and unique landscape carved out of sandstone. Considered to be a sacred place, the Bara Tribe seal their coffins into the cliffs with mounds of stones. Shaped by the wind over millennia, this is a barren paradise of unusual rock formations, canyons, gorges and grasslands. Hiking on one of the many trails you will discover unusual flora and fauna; the park is home to Ringtail, Brown and Sifaka Lemur as well as rare Elephant Foot Plants. Treks can last from a few hours up to a week; but whatever the length, a refreshing dip in one of the numerous natural pools is a must!
