Information
With wild scenery, gauchos riding across the plains, jagged mountain peaks, blue melt water lakes and huge skies, Southern Patagonia is one of the most dramatic and beautiful places on earth.
A two hour drive from the popular town of El Calafate takes you to the mile wide Perito Moreno Glacier. Surrounded by spruce trees, the brilliant white glacier is slowly retreating and you will not have to watch for long before a large chunk of ice breaks away and crashes into the lake below. The border town of El Chaltén is located near to Mount Fitz Roy, where the scenery and hiking is amongst the best in Argentina.
