Further south in Belize is the farming heartland of Toledo. Only recently opened up to tourism the scenery is varied and dramatic. The mighty Maya Mountains loom over the land, wildlife is ever present. There are a number of important archaeological sites, most of which are un-restored with jungle encroaching upon them.
