For beautiful beaches and only a handful of people, head south to Placencia. Less commercial than Ambergris, Placencia is all about relaxation and rejuvenation. At the very tip of a long and narrow peninsula, the town is a sleepy place with just a few shops and restaurants. To the north of the town are a number of good quality hotels, all with good beach frontage that look out over the Caribbean.
